Meaning: So-called, so to speak

Formation:

いわゆる + Noun

Example sentences

でも、あの人もいわゆるまともなくちじゃないだろう?
That person’s not what you’d call normal though, is he?
Demo, ano hito mo iwayuru matomo na kuchi janai darou.

野菜やポテトはいわゆる健康食品だ。
Vegetables or potatos are so-called healthy foods.
Yasai ya poteto wa iwayuru kenkou shokuhin da.
