Meaning: And; and the like; and so forth

Formation:

Verb-casual + だの + Verb-casual + だの
Noun だの + Noun + だの
いadj + だの + いadj + だの
なadj + だの + なadj + だの

Example sentences

僕はお寺だの、名所見物だのには大して興味はないんですがね。
I’m not much of a fellow for temples and sight-seeing and all that.
Boku wa otera dano, meisho kenbutsu dano niwa taishite kyoumi wa nain desu ga ne.

昨日泊まったホテルは、眺めだのサービスだの、本当に満足のいくものだった。
I was really satisfied with the view and service of the hotel where i stayed yesterday.
Kinou tomatta hoteru wa, nagame dano saabisu dano, hontou ni manzoku no iku mono datta.

彼女は安っぽいお追従だの、お世辞だの、そういったものならなんでも好きだったんです。
She loved cheap flattery and compliments and all that sort of thing.

The elevator operator is saying something reassuring about the elevator’s articulated pistons and puddled-iron construction.
Erebeeta no annaigakari ga, pisuton o renketsu shita kouzou dano, rentetsusei no honegumi dano to, fuan o uchikesu you na setsumei o shite iru.

昇天した弁護士だの医者だのに僕が何の関係がある?僕が関心があるのは君のことだけだ。
What do i care about dead lawyers or dead doctors? you’re the only thing that matters.
Shouten shita bengoshi dano isha dano ni boku ga nan no kankei ga aru. boku ga kanshin ga aru no wa kimi no koto dake da.

彼はお金がたくさんあることだの、寄宿舎へ持って帰るご馳走のことだの、東京のいろんなおもしろい話だのの自慢ばかりしてたの。
He boasted too much of the money he had and the tuck he took back to school, and all the fun he had in tokyo.
Kare wa okane ga takusan aru koto dano, kishukusha e motte kaeru gochisou no koto dano, toukyou no iron na omoshiroi hanashi dano no jiman bakari shiteta no.

今日はなごやかなパーティなんですよ、殺人だの流血だの毒薬だのというお話はいけません。
This is a friendly party. do not let us talk of murders and bloodshed and poison.
Kyou wa nagoyaka na paatii nan desu yo, satsujin dano ryuuketsu dano dokuyaku dano to iu ohanashi wa ikemasen.
