Today we will show you over 130 JLPT N3 Grammar structures you need to prepare for the test. The grammar structures are coming with detail guideline and some example sentences.

っぱなし (ppanashi): Leaving (something) on, leaving (something) still in use おかげで (okage de): Thanks to a, b happens; because of a, b (something good) happens
をはじめ (o hajime): For example, starting with の間に (no aida ni): While, during (the time when)
によって / による (ni yotte / ni yoru): By means of, due to, owing to, because of によると / によれば (ni yoru to / ni yoreba): According to
につれ / につれて (ni tsure / ni tsurete): As, in proportion to, with, as… then… について (ni tsuite): Concerning, regarding
ばかりか/ばかりでなく (bakari ka / bakari denaku): Not only… but also, as well as にとって (ni totte): To, for, concerning, as far as … is concerned
として (toshite): As (i.e. in the role of) に対して (ni taishite): In regard to; in contrast to; whereas; to
にしても (ni shite mo): Even, even if にしては (ni shite wa): For; considering it’s (something or someone)
において/における (ni oite/ni okeru): In, on, at (place); as for, regarding に比べて (ni kurabete): Compared to, in comparison to
にかわって/にかわり (ni kawatte/ni kawari): Instead of, on behalf of に関する / に関して (ni kansuru / ni kanshite): Concerning, about, with regard to, related to, in relation to
にかけて (ni kakete): Over (a period of time), through, concerning に違いない (ni chigai nai): I’m sure, no doubt that, without a doubt
ばかりだ (bakari da): Continue to (similar to 一方だ) としたら/とすれば (to shitara/to sureba): If it were the case that…, if we assume…
んだって (ndatte): I hear that… なぜなら/なぜかというと (nazenara/naze ka toiuto): Because; the reason is; if you want to know why
なんて (nante): Such as, things like ないことはない (nai koto wa nai): Can; …is not impossible
ながらも (nagara mo): But, although, despite 向け (muke): Intended for; aimed at; oriented towards
向き (muki): Suitable for もしかしたら (moshikashitara): Perhaps; maybe; perchance; by any chance
ものだ (mono da): Used to do something; of course もの (mono): Because; indicates reason or excuse; indicates dissatisfaction
とおり (toori): In the same way as, in the way, as ばかり (bakari) – 1: Only, nothing but
めったに~ない (metta ni~nai): Hardly, rarely, seldom まるで (marude): As if; as though; just like
まま (mama): As it is くせに (kuse ni): Even though, and yet, in spite of
くらい (kurai) – 2: To the extent that, so much… that ことはない (koto wa nai): There is no need to; never happens
ことにする (koto ni suru): Decide to ことになる (koto ni naru): It has been decided that…
ことに (koto ni): To my…; ~ly ところが (tokoro ga): Even so, however, even though
ことから (koto kara): From the fact that… ばいい (ba ii): Should, can, it’d be good if
ことか (koto ka): How…!; what…! ことがある (koto ga aru): There are times when; (something) happens on occasions
ことだ (koto da): Should (used when giving suggestions or advice) こと (koto) – 2: (must) do
こそ (koso): For sure (emphasize preceding word) きり (kiri): Only, just, since, after
切れない (kirenai): Being too many or too much to finish or complete 切る (kiru): To do something completely to the end
ところで (tokoro de): By the way 決して~ない (kesshite~nai): Never; by no means; not in the least; in no way
っけ (kke): What is… again? ば~ほど (ba~hodo): The more… the more
代わりに (kawari ni): Instead of, in exchange for, to make up for から言うと (kara iu to): In terms of; from the point of view of
かけ (kake): Half-; not yet finished; in the middle of 一方で (ippou de): On one hand, on the other hand
一方だ (ippou da): More and more, continue to いくら~ても (ikura~temo): No matter how

べつに~ない (betsuni~nai): Not really, not particularly ように (you ni): In order to (e.g. meet goal); so that; hoping or wishing for something
ような気がする (you na ki ga suru): Have a feeling that…, think that… わりに (wari ni): For, despite, although, unexpectedly
わけにはいかない (wake niwa ikanai): must not, cannot afford to, can’t very well; must, have no choice but to べき/べきだ (beki/beki da): Must, should, ought to
わけがない (wake ga nai): There is no way that…, it is impossible for… わけではない (wake dewa nai): It doesn’t mean that; it is not the case that; i don’t mean that; it is
わけだ (wake da): The fact is, for that reason, as you’d expect, as you know 上で (ue de): after
うちに (uchi ni): While, before, during と共に (to tomo ni): Together with
べきではない (beki dewa nai): Must not do, should not do というのは (to iu no wa): Means; is; because; that is to say
ということだ (to iu koto da): I’ve heard that…; rumor has it that… という (to iu): Called, named
といっても (to ittemo): Although i say; although one might say; although called つまり (tsumari): In other words; that is to say
